Handmade Prints

Handcrafted alternative prints are created through slow, manual photographic processes in which the image is formed and finished by hand rather than by automated machines. Each print requires careful preparation of materials, test exposures, and a sequence of manual steps that make every piece slightly different from the next. Because pigments, paper, and chemistry interact in subtle ways, no two prints are ever completely identical — each one becomes a unique photographic object rather than a simple reproduction. The result is a personal artwork with depth, texture, and permanence, made to last for decades. Commissioning such a print from a photograph of yourself turns the image into something more than a picture: it becomes a distinctive piece of art that can accompany you throughout life and quietly enrich the space in which it is displayed.

Sizes

Common info

If it’s a square, it counts same as some A* size with smaller dimension same as the square’s side.

A4-ish

There are a4-ish papers.. photos on them vary in size, some kinds of paper are smaller, some bigger than a4. Picture is always smaller, also depending on whether there is white margin or not, the dimensions may be like 18x28cm +- 1-2cm in dims.

A3-ish

A3-ish prints some mostly in sizes 26x36cm or nearly 29x39cm, paper might be up to 33x43cm.

Production times

The times in table with prices, are approximate, how many days are needed from scratch, provided, there are supplies available.

For resinotype and cyanotype, part of that is preparation of the papers. Before binding the actual photo to a paper, it may be cca 5 days. So if prepare to this point, photos can be made faster. But they need their time, rushing breaks them. In some cases some parts might be optimized though, but not guaranteed to be faster.

Prices

These are on 350g paper, prices may vary according to concrete parameters and also complexity and success of the pictures in both directions.

Discounts

When it’s you in the photo

you get a 15% discount

When you paid a photoshoot

When you pay for a photoshoot (not a package that already includes prints), you receive a discount credit equal to 20% of the total price of the shoot. This credit can be used toward purchasing photographs. For example, if the shoot cost 10,000 CZK, you receive a 2,000 CZK credit. The credit is applied to photographs in the order they are purchased and reduces their price until the credit is fully used. If the price of a photograph is lower than the remaining credit, the unused part simply carries over to the next photo. Once the credit is exhausted, it is no longer available unless additional photoshoots are booked. This credit can also be combined with the 15% discount mentioned above.

When the print has minor issues/imperfections

I may decide, that the print is not quite as I’d like to, but it’s also quite good. In such cases I’d be selling them somewhere between 30% and 70%..
